Digital Leadership

·        Implementation

Phillippa Wraitmell (2021) agrees with John Burton -Gow, that in implementing the digital strategy it is important that everyone have a shared vision of what is to be achieved. She speaks of leaders who will empathize with staff that the transition from low tech to high tech is not easy for everyone. However, the digital leader must try to get everyone on board to some degree.

·        Data management software

Data management software will allow us to store and manage big data with ease. The administrators do currently have a data base of registration on spreadsheets but staff profiles and student info are still not organized digitally for ease of use.

·        Tracking student progress

Lifelong utilizes the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) when setting annual goals for students. There is an app called Spedtrek and it tracks student IEP progress over the year.

·        New and emerging technologies in education

At present we are not up to date on the latest new and emerging technologies in education but their procurement will be necessary as we seek to revamp from a low-tech programme to a high tech one.

·

·        Communicating with parents and other stakeholders

It is our vision at lifelong to grow a community of special needs parents who recognize , support and try to implement this model in their own territories. Through this programme they can see the growth of their productivity and the advancement of their children who otherwise might be sitting at home unproductive and unmotivated. At lifelong teachers and administrators utilize chats to keep in touch with parents.
